Spring 2019 Wine Club Case

Hi everyone it’s getting close to the time when the Spring wine club case offer will be unrolled. I’ll be saying a bit more about each of these wines during the launch but here is a quick synopsis of the case. I’ve thought about this for a few weeks now and I’ve decided to release a set of different vintages for this case.  Most of them haven’t been released yet – so it’s quite an exciting case in that most of these are coming out for the first time anywhere.  Okay, here it goes: (drum roll please…)

Entwined 2016 – a more nuanced approach to the Entwined with this vintage. Our vision of this blend is evolving and it’s becoming more like our 2014 straight up Gewurztraminer if you can remember that far back.  It’s less floral, more elegance. But it still has that core aromatic appeal that makes it the Entwined. It’s just grown up a bit – it’s gotten more sophisticated, so to speak.

Sur Lie 2016 – This wine has become a much-loved classic and it’s the last time around for this vintage as the 2017 will be bottled this May.  So this will be your last chance to get the 2016 Sur Lie made from Riesling and Pinot Gris aged on the lees with notes of apricot, brioche and a smooth buttery finish.

Riesling 2017 – I want to release a newer version of the Riesling in order to show off that fresh lime and clear crisp minerality that makes this wine so special when it’s young.  I love Rieslings when they start to age and they develop that rich kerosene flavour but there’s something about the lime zest citrus zing when they’re young that just screams summer and after a long winter summer is on my mind.

Rose 2017 – Our newest bottled vintage of the Rose which is a nice deep red and has all that fresh strawberry and cream richness.  We’ll be selling the darker 2016 in the tasting room but I thought I’d give you wine club members a sneak peak at the 2017 Rose before it gets officially released this summer

Wild 2017 – Our second vintage of wild yeast fermented Merlot.  This wine has all of the blackcurrant and blackberry notes of a Merlot but it also has nuances of wild mint and fresh herbs – very complex and fascinating.

Pulcinella Reserve 2016 – This is a bit of an early release but it’s ready to drink and is an exciting vintage for the reserve.  You can lay this one down and forget about it for awhile or drink it now – it’s ready. Lots of dark chocolate and spice with loads of dark berry notes mixed into the full balance of this – our most pronounced and bold red wine.
